Born and raised in San Diego, CA. I moved to Portland in 2013 to study architecture. After finishing my studies at PSU, I stayed around Portland for work. I always tell people that “San Diego has my heart, but Portland is where I call home.”

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Both my parents grew up in San Diego and still live there today. I have one older brother who also still lives in Southern California. My husband and I met about 6 years ago and married June 2022.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Working in the field of architecture, and in a niche part of the industry as a specifications writer, I’ve learned so many aspects of the entire design and building process. I’ve also been able to meet some amazing and inspiring people that live and work in the Portland community.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Skyline Restaurant. It never disappoints. Other than that, it depends on what I’m in the mood for. We’re spoiled with options in NW.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve lived in Portland for almost 10 years. About 5 to 6 of those years have been in NW specifically.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Anything Alfred Hitchcock.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Don’t be afraid to take that first step. It won’t always go as planned to start, but that’s just part of the journey

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I think it’d be fun to meet Trixie Mattel, a drag queen who’s been on Rupaul’s Drag Race and has gone on to have an amazing career as a country/ folk musician, work in television, headlined her own tours and live shows, and owns her own cosmetics company. It’d be amazing to pick her brain and get advice and how she’s been able to manage it all so successfully. I think I might meet her at Papa Haydn. Good food and a nice atmosphere.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I think our proximity to Forest Park and the ability to basically walk outside our door and be in nature is something I never take for granted.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I hope to have travelled more with my husband and experienced new, but also familiar places that we love.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I find a sense of peace in long road trips and camping. Takes me back to my childhood when my family travelled all over California and going camping when my brother and I were in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts respectively.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The variety of flavors of hard cider available in Portland. I’ve yet to find an equal anywhere else.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family. A space of my own. A place to gather and make memories.

HOME
